This dashcam owner described this driver’s negligent actions as “One of the most dangerous moves I’ve seen in person.”

Bloomington commuter and Redditor /u/JCDuckDuck shared head-shaking dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing a driver in a Toyota Corolla recklessly bomb down W Country Club Dr into oncoming traffic and across a set of double solid yellow lines to, in the end, cut a line of cars and essentially gain no time, at all.

Check out their reckless move in the dashcam video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As OP’s dashcam footage shows he’s stopped on W Country Club Dr. waiting for traffic ahead of him to start moving through the intersection.

Suddenly, a silver Toyota Corolla driver blasts by him at speeds well past 50, probably approaching 60 MPH.

This move required them to drive into oncoming traffic and through a set of double solid yellow lines to pull off.

The Corolla comes within feet of colliding head-on with a truck.

We can hear OP exclaim to himself in surprise.

The silver Corolla passes a line of cars before slotting in the front before the intersection.

Advantage gained? Perhaps a dozen cars but in the grand scheme of things, there was practically no time saved.

“Ah yes, the always classy “pass on a double yellow going way too fast because you’re too important to sit in traffic with everyone else” move. Love it,” the top comment from /u/LauraSaurus reads.

“I mean, you all laugh and scoff at his maneuver, but to be fair, he may have saved as much as 30 seconds off of his drive time, so the joke’s on you. /s,” /u/Bosuns_Punch sarcastically added.

“First to the red light wins!,” /u/_DirtyYoungMan_ added.

In Indiana, speeding more than 25 MPH over the posted speed limit is subject to a $74.50 base fine before fees and 4 points on your record.

Crossing a set of double solid yellow lines is also subject to a $150 base fine.

Moreover, this move in its totality is reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor in Indiana subject to a $1,000+ fine, license suspension, and possible jail time not to exceed 180 days.
