Most drivers would let this car take their lane to avoid a crash, but this dashcam owner did what everyone else wants to do when faced with this situation.
Bryan/College Station commuter and Redditor /u/GGSkater shared dashcam footage from earlier last week (Apr 4, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an aggressive driver in a Ford Focus trying to bully OP out of his lane, even feigning to hit OP’s car with his.
Check out the dashcam video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
As mentioned, the incident happened along the 3000 block of Texas 6 Frontage Rd at the Bryan Towne Center (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s in the left lane of Texas 6 Frontage Rd. as he passes the Bryan Towne Center.
A driver in a silver Ford Focus can be seen exiting the Towne Center into the right lane and then immediately trying to get into the left lane where OP is.
OP drives into the breakdown lane to avoid a collision but maintains their position, giving the Focus driver a long and healthy honk of his horn.
Both come side to side, OP standing his ground, something that also branded him as an “idiot”, too, a label he fully owned up to.
“You did what everyone wants to do when faced with this situation, which is why it was dumb,” /u/6poundbagofweed commented.
“And I’ll take the downvotes for it,” OP replied.
Interestingly enough, OP response received a lot of upvotes.
You’d think the Focus would back off, but moments later, you can see the Focus swerve back into OP.
In other words, road rage.
In a much taller and robust Jeep Wrangler, OP doesn’t budge, forcing the Focus back into its lane.
And that’s where the clip ends.
Presumably, nothing more came of this incident besides both parties leaving with a “What the f*** is wrong with you?” disposition.
“College Station is not particularly a large town, but it’s wild the number of r/idiotsincars post that originate from here,” the top comment from local /u/Random_Nugget1 replied.
“I want a s***box just to hold my ground against people like this. Go ahead and bump into me; I don’t care,” /u/Jesse3195 dreamed.
“The worst part is they probably think you’re the a-hole for not letting them in,” /u/Samurai_Stewie added.
In Texas, agressive and reckless driving like this with no accidents or injuries opens up violaters to misdemeanor charges with base fines up to $200.
