A reckless driver in a black Honda Accord on Santa Monica Blvd cut in and out of traffic with no regard for safety.

Santa Monica commuter and Redditor /u/Relevant-Victory-157 shared truly headshaking dashcam footage from earlier this week (Mar 7, 2025) to the /r/MildyBadDrivers subreddit showing a driver in a fairly new black Honda Accord driving recklessly, in and out of traffic, all to cut a couple of car lengths.

Check out /u/Relevant-Victory-157‘s footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 1100 block of Rt 2 (Historic Route 66) also known as Santa Monica Blvd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving in stop and go traffic on Santa Monica Blvd.

In his rear dashcam we can see a driver in a black Honda Accord (License Plate #8HHF011) come up behind him, the driver in a rush.

The Accord driver darts into opposing traffic to get around everyone and then comes face to face with another driver going the right way in a turn lane.

With no regard for safety, this Accord driver then darts back in and out of the left lane going the right way, coming within millimeters of colliding with OP’s vehicle.

The last we see of the Accord before the clip ends is it making its way down Santa Monica Blvd, cutting traffic but continuing going in the wrong direction, again, before driving straight through a left turn lane.

“My first thought was “Oh, he’s just in a hurry to get into the left turn lane.” Then I saw what he did to cut off OP and go around the oncoming truck. Holy f***!,” the top comment from /u/structural_nole2015 reads.

“Nice driving OP, your insurance company appreciates your defensive driving skills,” /u/Pudd12 complimented OP.

“Obviously a very important person!,” /u/BassoYi added.

In California, driving on the wrong side of the road with no accidents occurring incurs a $238 base fine and 4 points on your record.

Reckless driving like this also opens you up to a fine up to $1,000, possible jail time up to 90 days, or both.
