Driver on Regency Park had a clear view of Ridge yet failed to yield, anyway.
Jasmine Estates-area driver and Redditor /u/SeeWilky shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in February (Feb 16, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver on Regency Park failing to yield on their right on red, almost getting t-boned by a dashcam owner with the right of way.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Ridge Rd. and Regency Park Blvd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed eastbound on Co Rd. 587A, headed towards the aforementioned intersection.
Less than 100 feet from the limit line of the intersection, a driver in a white Hyundai Tucson can be seen approaching the intersection, stopping to make a right on red and, instead of yielding, just going for it despite OP coming in hot and with the right of way.
The Tucson driver swings wide into the leftmost lane and comes within a few feet of getting rear-ended by OP.
“Are you f***ing stupid?” OP rhetorically exclaims.
Thankfully, neither actually hit, and that’s where the incident ends; however, it could’ve ended up a whole lot worse.
“Its the “Me First….. I’m Am More Important” syndrome,” the top comment from /u/cmdrmcgarret reads.
“There’s never anyone behind you. Or in the other lane when they do this. I’ve been in the left lane when they turn right into my lane many times. It’s like my car has a secret invisibility mode,” /u/Inconceivable76 shared.
“It makes me insane when people turn wide like that,” /u/Ozzy_TheDog added.
In Oregon, failing to yield on a right turn on red (violating ORS 811.360/811.275) is a Class B traffic violation. The presumptive fine is about $265, though courts can adjust it. It also adds 3 DMV demerit points to your driving record.
