A driver in a Nissan Rogue headed towards Nordhoff nearly takes out dashcam owner minding their own business.

LA commuter and Redditor /u/ProfessionalHost3913 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in February (Feb 18, 2026) to the /r/Dashcam subreddit showing a careless driver assuming no one was in their blindspot, nearly causing them to swerve into OP with a dashcam, hard.

Check out the near miss below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 8800 block of Tampa Ave, just before the intersection with Nordhoff (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP exited the driveway to LUV Car Wash and Cruisers Smog Test Only onto Tampa.

Just past the train tracks, a driver in a dark grey Nissan Rogue can be seen changing multiple lanes at a time towards the turn lane onto Nordhoff.

With OP in their blind spot and not changing lanes correctly, they almost collide.

Thankfully, OP has the presence of mind to emergency brake, avoiding a collision.

The Rogue speeds off, not even a hand wave apologizing, before we see them turn into the strip mall with Thai Bamboo.

“They even continued into your lane after switching off their indicator even after you (presumably) were leaning on the horn? Awful driving by the Nissan and I’ve been tempted to follow them in to that car park and check they weren’t stoned or drunk or something,” the top comment from /u/DevilishRogue reads.

“Did you follow them into the parking lot to yell at them? I would be sorely tempted, but you never know how crazy and dumb someone like this is,” /u/Blueminded asked.

“I wish lol,” OP replied.

“Originally, my girlfriend and I thought there was a decent chance he scraped the front of our car, and also, he started driving away still, so we pulled into the same parking lot to take a photo of the license plate just in case, because he entered the parking lot, did a circle, and exited immediately and left. So we just parked and went to look at the damage on the car, and thankfully, it was all good.”

In California, a “no-look” lane change would typically be cited under Vehicle Code §22107 (unsafe turning or lane movement). The base fine is about $238, and it carries 1 DMV point on your driving record. If it causes a crash or involves unsafe speed, additional citations and penalties can apply.
