Doofus accelerated out of the Dunkin’ Lot, towards pedestrians, and over a curb just to cut off another car.

Suffolk County-area driver and Redditor /u/rbrainard shared headshaking dashcam footage from near Stockton and Broadway from several years ago (August 13, 2023) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an absolute loon of a driver rocketing out of this Dunkin’, pedestrians be dam*ed, just to get in front of another car.

Check out the poor display of driving below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the Dunkin’/7-11 combo parking lot on the corner of Stockton and Broadway (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed Southeast bound down Stockton St.

As he goes across the intersection, a driver in a black Mazda crossover can be seen backing out of a space in front of 7-11, turning to face Stockton, and then, seeing OP coming parallel to them, rocketing out of the lot, almost hitting pedestrians walking through while he’s doing it.

A dad can be seen literally pushing his son out of the way of the accelerating Mazda.

The shenanigans don’t end there because shortly after, the Mazda mostly drives on the wrong side of the road before hooking a right while blowing a stop sign, too.

“Running like they just shoplifted half of that store,” the top comment from /u/JustSomeWeirdGuy 2000 reads.

“So I saw that car: accelerate out of a parking lot, almost hit pedestrians on the sidewalk, drive in the oncoming lane, blow through a stop sign, no turn signal. Did I miss anything?” — /u/ChaosMusic

“Clearly just had some dunkin and had to run home to s***,” /u/KrakenGreyJoy humously added.

In New Jersey, failure to obey a stop sign is 2 points, failure to yield to pedestrians is typically 2 points, and improper passing or driving in the oncoming lane is usually 2–4 points depending on how it’s charged. Failure to signal generally carries no points, just a ticket, while careless driving is 2 points and reckless driving is 5 points if upgraded. Fines vary by offense but are commonly around $50–$200 per violation plus court costs, with reckless or careless driving also in that same general range but carrying higher overall penalties due to the charge severity. If multiple violations are cited separately or bundled into reckless driving, the total financial penalty and points can stack quickly.
