An impatient and inattentive driver nearly plowed into a pedestrian trying to cross the rain-soaked intersection.
Downtown Austin-area driver and Redditor /u/Impossible-Farm-5697 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in July (July 11, 2026) to the /r/dashcam subreddit showing an impatient driver run a red light, almost plow through a pedestrian, all to get stuck at the next light anyway.

As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of E 11th St. and Brazos in downtown Austin (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, it’s a rain-soaked Saturday, which means reduced visibility, slower reaction times, and conditions not conducive to risky driving.
OP is headed east down E 11th St.
As he approaches the aforementioned intersection, drivers, including himself, are already facing a red light.
OP comes to a stop even though drivers in front of them seemingly take the red as a suggestion and breeze through.
A pedestrian holding a pink umbrella, ready to cross 11th, gets the signal to cross and begins to do so.
Suddenly, a reckless driver in a pickup comes blazing past OP and the pedestrian, running a red and coming within feet of the girl.
Thankfully, the pedestrian was at a safe enough distance, and no one made contact.
The impatient driver gets instant karma as they didn’t gain much of an advantage with their red light run.
“Dude risked running over a pedestrian just to be stuck at the next red light with us,” OP clarified in his caption.

Texas does not assess DMV points for ordinary moving violations under its current system, but if the violation nearly struck a pedestrian, the officer could cite additional offenses or pursue more serious charges if the facts support them.
