This goofball, merging onto US-20 from OH-53, brute-forced their way into the fast lane without signaling.
Erie County-area driver and Redditor /u/Fa1c0n1 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from Sandusky, earlier in July (July 30, 2026), on the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing a reckless driver merging onto Highway 20 from State Route 53 without so much as a signal or shoulder check on their way to the fast lane.

The incident happened on US-20 where the highway intersects with OH-53 (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving in the fast lane of US-20 headed due east towards Clyde.
As he approaches the intersection with OH-53, a driver in a light gold Mercury Grand Marquis can be seen merging onto the highway, and instead of doing the right thing- joining at the speed of traffic, checking their blind spots, and signaling before lane changes- the Grand Marquis driver brute forces their way across instead.
Right when their left front tire touches US-20, the Grand Marquis makes a beeline to the fast lane despite now being on a collision course with OP fast approaching.
OP is forced towards the center divider and swerves into whatever breakdown lane is left.
Thankfully, they avoid a collision, but the driver in the Grand Marquis does get their way, slotting in front of OP before accelerating off into the distance.

“Thank you. I agree he deserved the points and deductible, but I’m certainly glad that I avoided it… had my last car totaled by another idiot less than a year ago (the reason I finally got around to buying this dashcam, actually) and very happy to not go through that again,” OP replied.
“The thing that enrages me the most on all of these videos is that THEY DON’T EVEN BUDGE AND STICK TO THEIR LANE CHANGE,” /u/Zabramovich added.
“If it was me, I would brake and go back to my lane but how often do you see these idiots CONTINUING their manoeuvre after almost causing a MASSIVE crash?”
