This cyclist actively re-routed in front of a pedestrian who had the right of way.
Burbank-area driver and Redditor /u/SoreLoser69 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in July (July 31, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a cyclist approaching this busy intersection and, instead of stopping to yield for a pedestrian who clearly had the right of way, opting to bike right through, leaving a pedestrian both surprised and frustrated.
Check out their bonehead cycling move below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Magnolia Blvd & Hollywood Way (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed westbound down the 3600 block of W Magnolia towards the intersection with Hollywood.
At the red light, OP comes to a stop, and a pedestrian who now has the walk signal can be seen stepping out onto the pedestrian crossing, now with the right of way.
Suddenly, an ignorant cyclist bombing down the right turn lane and facing a red just about plows into the pedestrian, at the last second re-routing in front of them to turn when they should’ve yielded.
The pedestrian can be seen coming to a grinding halt to avoid getting plowed into.
“Just an a**hole move and indicative of the lack of cyclist education. I’m sure he drives like this, too,” one of the top comments from /u/rjd999 reads.
“Cyclist here, dude’s a t**t (rhymes with bought) and makes the rest of us look bad.,” /y/Dips***_Identifier added.
“This is exactly the reason for many no right on red laws. Driver (biker) is looking left, not paying attention to pedestrians who might be crossing from the right,” /u/aksers pointed out.
In Burbank, California, a cyclist who fails to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk can be cited and generally faces a base fine that totals around $238 after state and county assessments. California does not use a driver’s license point system for bicycle infractions unless the offense involves a motor vehicle.
