This goofball ignorantly ran a red arrow and paid the price by likely totaling his car and another innocent driver’s car, too.
East Cobb-area driver and Redditor /u/DuckRedBeard shared head-shaking dashcam footage from this busy Sandy Plains intersection from earlier last week ( Sept. 8, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing this driver’s ignorance, resulting in one expensive T-bone collision.

The incident happened at the intersection of Sandy Plains Rd. and Gordy Parkway/ Holly Springs Rd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is ready to turn left onto Holly Springs.
Cross traffic and traffic to his right have the right-of-way, with left-turners, himself included, facing a red arrow.
Suddenly, a driver in a silver Toyota Camry, facing said red arrow, treats it as a solid green instead and just turns against cross traffic.
Their mistake turns disastrous as a driver in a red Subaru wagon enters the intersection and, with literally no time or space to react, T-bones the Camry.
They did, however, try their best to stop, regardless.
“The Outback’s brake lights were on, and its nose dipped already when it (the Camry) came into view,” /u/SomethingIWontRegret pointed out.
Thankfully OP reported no injuries, and it’s presumed he stopped to give the Subaru driver his dashcam footage.
“See this happening more lately. People seem to think the color red is for everyone else. Almost daily, I see people make U-turns at intersections on a red arrow,” /u/Mvonup shared.
“Avoidable if the silver car driver had gassed it while making that illegal left turn instead of crawling out into the intersection,” /u/11B-33T suggested.
