Was this left-turner waiting on Kingsland drunk?
Bergen County-area driver and Redditor /u/exegete_ shared head-shaking late-night dashcam footage from earlier in September (Sept 12, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing a careless driver making a harebrained left turn onto Riverside against a red arrow.

The incident happened at the intersection of Riverside Ave. and Kingsland Ave. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed south on Riverside, generally towards North Arlington at around 5 AM early Saturday morning.
Suddenly, a driver in what looks like a Honda HR-V, who had been waiting to turn onto Riverside from Kingsland, starts to go against a red arrow.
OP was going slow enough that he had time to react, slowing down and avoiding what would’ve been one costly accident.
Thankfully, nothing serious came of the incident.

It’s a common thing in New Jersey and some places in New York, probably really common elsewhere too,” /u/manawydan-fab-llyr replied.
“After dark, there are a lot of people who treat red lights as Stop signs, and I’m not talking about right-on-red. They stop and will continue straight, or make a left, as seen here, if they think they can get away with it.”
