This Nice-hole’s supposed act of goodness led this Porsche driver to make a blind left, resulting in an expensive collision.

Ada County-area driver and Redditor /u/Lanaya_Del_Rey shared head-shaking, expensive dashcam footage from earlier in September (Sept. 22, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars showing what happened when a Porsche, trying to make a left turn, was encouraged to do so when other drivers needlessly stopped on Fairview to “help them out.”

Here are the expensive results of what this nice-hole did below, with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 4000 block of Fairview Ave near the intersection with Venture St (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed East on Fairview towards West Boise.

Suddenly, traffic in front of him comes to a stop as a supposed Good Samaritan stops to allow a Porsche owner turning left off of Venture to turn in front of them.

Stopping also blocks any view the Porsche has of cross traffic, which proves disastrous moments later.

As the Porsche commits to the left turn and with eyes focused on westbound traffic, the Porsche doesn’t see a driver in a black Ford Explorer fast approaching in the leftmost lane.

The Explorer drives head-on into the right front fender of the Porsche, a collision so hard it obliterates the Porsche’s fender.

Thankfully, all parties stop to pull over and seem uninjured.

“Someone two cars ahead of OP was trying to be polite by letting the Porsche out; you can see there’s no traffic in front of them for a ways right after the crash. That’s dumb to do when you can’t control the other lane, and it’s dumb on the Porsche’s fault to just assume that the other lane is clear when they can’t see,” the top comment from /u/millllllls reads.

“Don’t be polite, be predictable.”

“I just stare at people who have the right of way until they f***ing move. My favorite is when someone with tinted windows tries to wave me out. I can’t see you, nor do I know what you’re saying,” /u/RatFink77 added.

In Idaho, making a turn when you can’t see clearly enough to ensure it can be made safely can potentially result in a $90 fine plus court costs and 3 points, depending on the specific violation cited. If the blind turn causes a crash, the driver can also face increased insurance liability and potentially additional citations depending on the circumstances.
