This driver got in the habit of running red lights as they turned, and it finally caught up to them.
McLennan County-area driver and Redditor /u/StaleFanta shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier in September (Sept 22, 2026) to the /r/ConvenientCop subreddit showing a plain ol’ bad driver running a red arrow, probably as usual, right in front of a cop who wasn’t about to let that slide.
Check out the instant justice below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of N Hewitt Dr and Panther Way (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed southeast down Hewitt Dr. towards the 35, waiting for turning traffic to finish turning.
OP gets the green to go, which means turning traffic has had the red for more than a few seconds.
However, that doesn’t stop one bad driver from running the red, anyway.
They don’t realize a cop is headed straight; he sees the whole thing play out as the red light runner passes him and immediatly throws on his reds and blues as he pulls out and pulls the driver over.
“Knew that road, just in front of Midway High in Hewitt. Nice catch,” the top comment from another local, /u/DONot_Books_451, reads.
“I wish the cops in my area did this. They don’t give a f*** anymore,” /u/CrackedOutMunkee shared.
“The vehicle making the right on red also blew through that stop,” /u/Hattrick42 also pointed out.

In Hewitt, Texas, running a red arrow is generally treated as a traffic-signal violation under Texas Transportation Code §544.007, with a fine generally up to $200 under the state traffic-violation penalty provisions, although the actual court amount can include costs/fees. (Texas Constitution and Statutes) Texas no longer uses the old Driver Responsibility Program points system, so a standard red-light conviction does not add DPS license points. (legalclarity.org)
