A cop at the right place at the right time spotted a dashcammer’s near collision with a no-look lane changer.
Denton County-area driver and Redditor /u/IslayPoony shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier in September (Sept 9, 2026) to the /r/Dashcam subreddit, showing a careless driver’s nearly disastrous lane change earning them instant justice from a Frisco cop in their interceptor who conveniently happened to be nearby.
Here’s how it played out on dashcam with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened along the Dallas North Tollway on the Dallas Parkway where the Costco is (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed north down the Dallas Parkway towards 380.
To his right, a driver in a blue Toyota Camry is minding their own business.
They, however, minded their business too much as they pull a no-look lane change into OP’s lane.
OP has to slam on his brakes and honk his horn to avoid what would’ve been one nasty sideswipe accident.
The near miss didn’t go unnoticed as, shortly after, the reds and blues of a Frisco Interceptor can be seen passing OP on their way to pulling the driver over.
“That’s beautiful. My question is, how long did it take the car driver to even realize the cop was behind them? They appear to be rather oblivious to life in general,” /u/GoldGlove528 asked.
“They went through the light and drove for about half a mile before they got into the other lane and pulled over,” OP replied.
“This is the fake scenario I imagine every time someone cuts me off like that. Glad to see someone living out my dreams,” /u/Grizzlyfrontignac shared.
In Frisco, Texas, an unsafe lane change—such as changing lanes without looking and creating a safety hazard—is typically charged under Texas Transportation Code §545.060(a)(2); Frisco’s current fine schedule lists $199, including state court costs. (Frisco, TX)
It is generally a 2-point moving violation in Texas; if it results in a crash, it can be 3 points. (dps.texas.gov)
