This goofball’s decision to make a right turn from a center turn lane into a McDonald’s ended in disaster for her.

Jasper County-area driver and Redditor /u/Foreign-Horse8301 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier last year (Nov 20, 2025) to the /r/dashcams subreddit, showing a plain ol’ bad driver who thought they could get away with an illegal maneuver from the center turn lane, only to end up crashing and likely totalling two cars in the process.

Here’s how it went down below, with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The crash happened in the 1200 block of S Rangeline Rd, right next to the McDonald’s (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed north on Rangeline.

As pointed out by others, the speed limit here is 40 MPH. We see OP speeding, getting up to 53 MPH before the moment of impact.

As he approaches the McDonald’s, a driver in a red Ford Escape can be seen stopped in the center turn lane.

To their credit, they are signaling right.

If they were just waiting, yielding for a moment to re-enter traffic, that would be legal; however, what they do next is definitely not.

The lady driver in the Escape turns right into the McDonald’s, directly into the path of OP, who ends up T-boning her hard at 50+ MPH.

The Escape is totaled, and the same likely can be said for OP’s car, too.

“She claimed she slipped. I said you slipped across two lanes. Thankfully no serious injuries,” OP clarified in his caption.

“I love how you’re still going 50mph even though three of her tires are in the lane already, with maybe three to four car lengths to go,” /u/Useful-Probem-1725 pointed out, holding back no punches.

The best course of action is always to maintain speed and drive into somebody,” /u/MyHGC added sarcastically.

In Joplin, Missouri, making a right turn from a center two-way left-turn lane would generally violate Missouri’s requirement that right turns be made from as close as practicable to the right edge, with 2 driver’s-license points for a standard moving violation. (Missouri Revisor of Statutes) The fine depends on the charge and court, but Missouri caps the combined fine and court costs for a minor traffic violation at $225. (Missouri Revisor of Statutes)
