This dashcam owner alleges this driver might’ve been drunk or distracted.

Downtown Ft. Lauderdale-area driver and Redditor /u/buckeyebrad3 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier in October (Oct 9, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver, likely distracted but maybe under the influence, attempting a U-turn on Federal over a concrete center divider, only to get stuck.

Here’s how it played out below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on Federal Highway/US-1 just before the intersection with Broward Blvd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed north on Federal towards the aforementioned intersection.

Suddenly, from the middle lane, a driver in a Volkswagen Jetta signals and busts a U-turn nowhere near the limit line, let alone from the right lane.

Worse yet, she does this over a concrete center divider.

She gets stuck, realizes her mistake, and hits reverse, getting herself out of an unnecessary situation.

The scary thing is, had she been able to make the U-turn, she would’ve t-boned an innocent driver going the other way.

You can see that at the moment she got stuck, she would’ve hit a red Ford Mustang.

Near T-bone collision.

“I’m not sure that was the intended path. If they would have fulfilled that turn they would have pulled out right in front of cars. The cement saved multiple cars from an accident. It makes me wonder what was really happening inside the car,” one of the top comments from /u/sparebullet reads.

The dashcam owner has additional footage (found here) showing her driving erratically.

“I was following for a couple of miles, and she was all over the road. Almost sideswiped a Tesla about 2 minutes before. I assumed texting but might’ve been drunk,” OP explained in the comments.

“My god, we share the road with these f***ing people,” /u/hihellobyee added.
