This driver was ignorant of the rules of the road despite road markings and signage.
Volusia County-area driver and Redditor /u/Proud-Citron-8052 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from this busy DeLand roundabout from earlier in October (Oct 11, 2026) to the /r/dashcams subreddit, showing an ignorant driver doing as he pleases despite road markings and signage informing him what he’s supposed to do.
Here’s the video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened on the roundabout at SR-44/ E New York Ave. and S Kepler Rd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving south on Kepler towards the aforementioned roundabout.
Road markings and signage clearly show what drivers should do on this two-lane roundabout.

OP uses the left lane intending to go straight through, allowed from that lane.
However, a driver in their lifted GMC Denali towing a fan boat in the right lane has other plans.
Despite only being allowed to immediatly turn right or go straight, the driver in the GMC Denali cuts across OP’s direction of travel just as he’s supposed to go straight onto Kepler.
OP has to emergency brake to avoid T-boning the doofus.
Thankfully, OP avoids a major accident before coming to a complete stop himself and rerouting back onto Kepler.
The fan boat-towing driver in his Brodozer can be seen heading east (left) onto E New York Ave.
“Great job catching and reacting quickly to his failure. That could have easily been a headache even if it wasn’t likely to cause much bodily harm,” one of the top comments from /u/Traditional-Safe-867 reads.
“Thank you. I always anticipate people doing this. I usually always use the outside lane to go straight because of it, but we were in a rush with a toddler to get home for a nap so I used the left lane which was shorter,” OP replied.
“I don’t think it’s even about the signs or reading. That driver didn’t care to begin with,” /u/Fickle-Owl666 added.
In DeLand, Florida, a ticket for failure to maintain a lane or an improper lane change inside a roundabout is classified as a moving violation under Florida Statute 316.089. A conviction for this offense adds 3 points to your Florida driving record. The total cost of the fine varies based on local Volusia County court surcharges and whether a crash occurred, but it typically ranges between $65 and $300.
