A keen eyed car fan spotted both the Jaguar F-Pace SVR and Range Rover Sport SVR in the high elevation of Colorado.

If you want to make sure that your car can survive the rigors of thin air found at high elevation, there’s no better place to test than the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. One keen eyed car fan armed with his smart phone captured the hottest spec of the Jaguar F-Pace wrapped in camouflage parked at a mountain chalet. According to Carscoops on their report they dropped earlier today (Mar. 29,2017) Jaguar brought a whole fleet of prototypes to Colorado including a Range Rover Sport SVR which we can only assume will share the same engine as the F-Pace SVR. Carscoops was smart enough to point out the large air intakes that the front bumper was hiding. With an extra two liters of supercharged displacement on the way, feeding a larger motor with plenty of air will be a priority. In addition this new SVR benefits from special spec’d wheels and larger tires.

In it’s most sportiest trim level the Jaguar F-Pace packs 380 HP and 332 lb-ft which is more than enough to move the 4,015 pound performance SUV through it’s paces (no pun intended.) A 0-60 MPH blast in 5.1 seconds is nothing to sneer at. But the writing was on the wall with the F-Pace as it had it’s most powerful engine, the 5.0 L supercharged V8, still in its parts bin. In it’s most powerful guise, the 5.0L supercharged engine makes 575 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque in the Jaguar F-Type SVR. We can expect Jaguar to detune that engine for a bit more torque and more available power down low.

Even though Jaguar was more than a decade late to the crossover party their F-Pace is certainly selling well enough. According to Good Car Bad Car, Jaguar manages to consistently sell at least 1,500 units a month, which is on par with its closest competitor, the Porsche Macan. As a matter of fact Jaguar sold 21 more units of the F-Pace when compared to the Macan for the month of February.

No journalist can deny, the F-Pace handles nothing like a normal SUV. Even in its cheapest guise the dynamics of the F-Pace make it one of the most capable SUV’s money can buy. With this newest SVR on the horizon things only bode well for Jaguar and its F-Pace.
