If I told you that Pope Francis could technically take a Lamborghini Huracan out to the streets of Vatican City and pull a mean burnout, you’d probably think I was joking. But I’m not! According to Lamborghini in a press release, they dropped earlier today (Nov. 15, 2017) a brand-spanking new 2017 Lamborghini Huracan customized in his honor was delivered to the Pope where he signed his signature onto the hood. Check out a couple of images from the official signing courtesy of Lamborghini below.

The Pope, being the master of social media and getting the presses attention like he does, perhaps wanted to draw attention to some of the good works that the Catholic church is doing around the world. And Lamborghini, seeing how they’re so close to his holiness, probably decided it would behoove them to do a bit of good and take advantage of the good PR that would come from this.

No, the Pope won’t be driving the car himself while it’s on the grounds of Vatican City. Instead, the Pope had decided to stick with his own Popemobile. His daily driver will presumably still be the 2008 Ford Focus that’s he’s had for a couple of years now.

On May 12, RM Sotheby’s will hold some kind of auction where all proceeds will be allocated to three projects benefiting what the Catholic Church does. The money will go towards rebuilding Christian homes in Iraq and bolstering a Christian community in the Ninevah Plan. The money will also go towards Pope Francis’ House Project which helps women affected by human trafficking and other abuses. And finally, money will help two attaches in Africa working on the Pope’s behalf called the “Friends of Central Africa” whose work helps women and children in need.

As we’ve mentioned, this isn’t any ordinary Huracan as this one’s been customized by Lamborghini’s “Ad Personam” department. Lamborghini took color cues from the Vatican flag painting the Huraracan in Biano Monocerus with yellow stripes on the side, much like the flag.

I love that this car actually exists and how it has a true representative of the Catholic church that goes all the way back to St. Peter that signed and blessed it. Hopefully, some rich Catholic philanthropist will buy it and park it around some local Catholic churches just to rile up the local media.
