Lincoln’s best selling vehicle in its lineup gets a much-needed refresh as well as a couple of choice luxury options.

Lincoln’s best selling product in its lineup, selling more than 25,000 units year after year since it was introduced, finally gets its mid-cycle refresh placing its looks in line with the rest Lincoln’s lineup. According to Lincoln Motors in an official press release they dropped earlier today (Nov. 20, 2017) Lincoln debuted its refreshed new look, announced three variants of its Black Label theme, and took a shot at other luxury brands. Check out a couple of press photos showcasing MKC’s new front face below.

The MKC has been selling well despite its front fascia carrying a design language one generation behind the rest of its lineup. Now, Lincoln has carried over the Continental style grill that evokes styling cues from luxury brands that easily could cost 2-3 times as much. Overall, the new front end ties in well with the rest of its body lines. If anything, that gaping maw will serve well in cooling the two optional turbocharged four-cylinder engines that carry over from last year.

Lincoln was proud to introduce three sublevels of its optional Black label theme.

  • Modern heritage- White leather seats with Lincoln’s black label star insignia. Wood accents throughout.
  • Indulgence- Venetian and Alcantara cloth seats in Truffle and Ganache color. Slightly fancier wood accents. They say they take styling cues from yachts.
  • Center Stage- Diamond-L perforation pattern on the Alcantara cloth inserts stitched with Foxfire Red piping. Even fancier wood accents still.

Stock on Reserve models is Lincoln MKC’s Rialto Green cabin with black ash wood accents.

If you’re a fan of really descriptive writing bordering on, in my opinion, trying too hard, it would behoove you to delve into the press release they dropped. The names of the exotic woods should be enough to elicit a couple of chuckles. On a more serious note, I’m sure the woods are all premium to the touch and pleasing to the eye.

As mentioned, carrying over from last year is Lincoln’s potent duo of turbocharged inline four cylinders. There’s the 2.0L Ecoboost putting out a generous 240 HP and 270 lb-ft and there’s the slightly more powerful 2.3L Ecoboost with 285 HP and 305 lb-ft.

And that shot at luxury brands,

MKC is bringing new clients to Lincoln; one out of two Lincoln MKC sales come from other luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.

We’ll take Lincoln’s word on that stat.
