Here’s a couple of new pics of a wrecked Honda Civic Type R if you’re into that sort of thing.

It doesn’t matter that it’s a New Year, Honda Civic Type R owners are still out there making all sorts of damage to their 305 HP FWD machines. According to ABetter.Bid on their latest update on this wrecked 2017 Honda Civic Type R that popped up for sale earlier this week (Jan 15, 2018) bidding is fast and furious on what’s pretty much a write-off. The pictures aren’t pretty so if you’ve just had lunch or your stomach is weak at seeing such Japanese excellence completely in shambles, I suggest you not click to see all the photos below.

By my count, this is the 6th wrecked Honda Civic Type R that’s popped up for auction in the past year. Surprisingly, this one’s located in Sacramento, Calif. which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from where yours truly lives. Usually, the wrecked Type Rs seem to pop up on the East Coast.

This Crystal black Honda Civic Type R doesn’t seem to have any mileage listed so we’re going to assume it’s being withheld or the ECU is completely toasted and it can’t be bothered to be powered on.

With my five years of experience watching youtube crash videos and being a weekend fan of CSI, I can probably guess that this Honda Civic Type R slammed into the back of a semi-truck trailer at low speed and got wedged underneath.

You’d think that Honda would throw in Honda Sensing, Honda’s suite of cameras and radar that comes with a collision mitigation brake system, a system that would benefit a lot of younger drivers on the road, but the Type R doesn’t come with that.

The Honda Civic Type R is a pure-bred race car for the streets so all that safety relies on you, the driver.

As of this writing, the bidding is already up to $6,800. Believe it or not, there’s still some value to be had from this wreck. Most body panels and parts like wheels are still salvageable, not to mention a couple of engine parts.

So pour one out tonight for this Type R, because like Honda owners do with older models, all parts will be stripped and repurposed.
