The BMW driver may not have taken responsibility, but dashcam footage forced him to fess up.

Presumed Georgia resident and Redditor /u/Away_Bodybuilder submitted dashcam footage from Loganville, GA to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the harebrained moment a driver in a BMW attempts to overtake using the side of the road and ends up rear-ending /u/Away_BodyBuilder’s Dodge Challenger Hellcat instead.

On top of that, when an attempt to dole out blame accordingly first happened, the BMW driver denied, denied, and denied (some more) responsibility.

Check out OP’s rear dashcam footage from Youtube below (sorry, it looks like 240P is the highest resolution atm.)

The accident happened in Loganville at the intersection of Lee Byrd Rd. and US 78/SR 10 (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

In OP’s video, we see her stopped at the intersection.

In her rearview, we can see a driver in a black Dodge Charger trying to overtake OP and a black BMW right behind her using the side of the road (not a lane.)

Here’s a screenshot of the area, showing that the lane the Charger is in is not a lane.

Just as the Charger begins to pass them, the driver in the BMW coincidentally attempts the same (probably a thing in this area) and does a no-look swing out onto the side of the road.

It didn’t help that his vision was obscured by his hoodie, too.

The Charger crashes into the side of the BMW, which causes the BMW to crash into the back of OP.

To be clear, OP is not, in any way, at fault here.

“I was first in line at the light of highway 78 in Loganville, Georgia. The only way out would have been to drive into traffic, no, thanks. The BMW driver took out two Chargers, AFTER he had come to a stop. His mom later showed up to argue with the cops how it wasn’t her adult son’s fault,” OP captioned the video.

According to OP, the damages to her Charger were about $14,000. Expensive!

“Another insult is that 911 never answered the call you hear initiated in the video. The driver of the BMW also didn’t ask if the driver of the red Charger, or her daughter were okay.”

Thankfully, OP had her dashcam running, exonerating her of fault and hopefully forcing the BMW driver’s insurance to take responsibility for their client’s actions.

“I’m trying to figure out how much of a f***ing f***wad adjuster do you have to be to deny liability when the damage was caused by a rear-end,” /u/Pam-sobao commented.

“Like they hit you. How on earth is that not their fault. I guess it was between the two idiots,” /u/Unusual_Flounder2073 added.

“But they were going to be 1 minute faster! Must get over now, can’t wait 1 minute!,” /u/blkcarp00 sarcastically replied.

Yet another data point to get yourself a dashcam if you already haven’t.
