“Not today, Satan,” this Redditor titled this dashcam video.
Missourian and Redditor /u/thisisforskool posted up heart pumping dashcam footage from earlier in July (July 9, 2024) from Belton showing the hare-brained moment a driver in lane #1 decided to suddenly make a left turn, if it wasn’t obvious, from the wrong lane!
It almost ended in disaster if /u/thisisforskool wasn’t paying attention.
Check out the dashcam video for yourself below.
Not today, Satan. [OC]

As mentioned, the incident happened in Belton, MO in the 1500 block of E North Ave (exact location on Google maps linked here.)
As the dashcam video shows, OP changes lanes from lane #1 to #2.
A driver in what looks like a silver 2013 GMC Terrain appears on camera in lane #1 and drives kitty-corner to his position.
All of a sudden, the Terrain driver pulls off a truly heinous left turn and does the ol’ turn suddenly without checking their blind spot plus signaling at the last-second combo.
For many drivers, this would’ve ended with them T-boning the Terrain but, thankfully, OP was paying attention (driving defensively.)
OP does what any good driver would do and slams on his brakes and honks.
It’s enough to avoid a collision as they both come within inches of each other.
The Terrain driver? They drive off without a care in the world; no wave of regret, no slowing down to poke out their head to say “sorry!” nothing.
Contrary to popular belief (or at least to one commenter) OP doesn’t necessarily floor it out of aggression as much as “I was getting back up to the speed limit to stop impeding traffic.”
“What a P*S. Probably didn’t even look. Just said I’m going,” /u/newUseMe commented.
“The amount of people that signal AFTER they begin a Lange change and think it’s ok is disturbing. I always leave plenty of room on the highway to avoid this nonsense. I don’t need to be first, I just want to get home in one piece,” /u/closefarhere added.
“If this sub us taught me anything, it’s to always assume the driver next to you will do something stupid. It probably saved my life the other day.,” /u/Sum1InTh3Crowd replied.
Thankfully, OP had the presence of mind to react quickly.
Many drivers wouldn’t have.
This is always a good reason to have a dashcam.
Had he hit the other driver and the other driver claimed they weren’t at fault, video evidence would’ve said otherwise.
