On any other day, they would’ve gotten away with it, but not that day.
Lemoyne area commuter and Redditor /u/amp_atx shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in March (Mar 20, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an impatient driver trying to overtake “slower” cars by crossing over double solid yellow lines into oncoming traffic, only to get a dose of instant justice.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened in the 900 block of Market St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving eastbound on Market St. towards the t-intersection with N 9th St.
OP and the traffic in front of him aren’t going particularly slowly. In fact, they’re all going at or below the posted 25 MPH speed limit (as seen in the dashcam footage)
This is apparently too slow for a driver in a Subaru Legacy, as a Legacy driver can be seen passing OP on his left, across double solid yellow lines and against traffic.
They instantly regret their “loophole” to overtake, as they’re soon followed by the red-and-blue lights of a West Shore Regional Police interceptor.
“I just got this dashcam installed a few months ago, and now I regret not getting a rear one to catch a second angle of this,” OP shared in the comments.
“Things you love to see,” the top comment from /u/SomethingIWontRegret reads.
“Criminals are usually pretty dumb, dude didn’t even check his surroundings,” /u/biggranny000 added.
“NGL, I thought the Explorer was going to be the cop. It’s 95% of what they run here,” /u/Prize-Trouble-7705 shared.
In Pennsylvania, crossing double solid yellow lines is illegal and considered a moving violation. If caught, a driver can face a $75–$150 fine and 3 points on their license. Going the wrong way against traffic would likely add more severe penalties, including higher fines and additional points.
