This lovely human being with CAD and a 3D printer is making it that much easier to drive down the 101 and dip Chicken McNuggets in Sweet-N-Sour sauce at the same time.

I don’t use the term deadset legend that often but when I do, whomever I’m referring to has darn well earned it. Earlier yesterday (Apr. 28, 2019) automotive interior accessory designer and 3D printer extraordinaire SMK Fabrications shared with the greater Subaru community his latest project, a placeholder you insert near your cupholder to hold your dipping sauces. It looks like his dipping sauce holder can, at the moment, hold a McDonalds dipping sauce container in perfect suspension so that no matter what direction your car moves in the X and Y axis, your sauce will stay perfectly still. Please enjoy the preliminary photos he’s provided below.

As mentioned in his comments his ingenious design allows its user to interchange the sauce holder with more than one template. Currently, he’s working on one for Chick-fil-a sauces. Can you imagine cruising on a Sunday afternoon and eating a tasty Chick-n-Strip with some delicious Chick-fil-A dipping sauce right next to you?

When I say “near the cupholder” the space he’s referring to is the storage area right in front of the cupholder and only in presumably late-model Subaru Crosstreks. I did mention he’s making stuff for the Subaru community.

Surely, if you contact and compensate him accordingly, he might make you a sauce holder for your own car. And if you’re a Crosstrek owner, aren’t you in luck.

Keep an eye out on his personal Etsy store linked here as this is probably where you’ll see his Crosstrek sauce holders pop up.

What do you think about his one-off sauce holder design? Do you think this should be optional on all new cars? Let me know your .02 in the comments below.
