With a turbo engine from its rival Mitsubishi and power going to all four wheels, this Civic will break Honda purists hearts.

Those witches in Macbeth said it best, “Something wicked this way comes.” One glance at this Civic Hatchback build and you’ll know what I mean.

According to Trevor Spec and a gallery of photos he shared, this car enthusiast and certified madman is wrapping up a Honda Civic Hatch build that will see astronomical gains on the dyno and enough grip to slay all in the other lane thanks to its 4G63 engine and drivetrain swap from a Mitsubishi Evolution IX.

Check out the post for yourself below.

According to this guy’s build on Instagram, this motor’s out of a 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX making it one of the most advanced 4G63T’s Mitsubishi ever made.

Stock, the Honda CX made just 70 HP from its 1.5L D-series engine. The CX is literally the bottom of the barrel as far as Honda trim’s in the early 90’s go. But, with a bare bones interior, this Honda also tipped the scales at a featherweight 2,100 pounds and change.

The perfect slate for a good power-to-weight ratio build.

Honda motors, like the popular K-Swap, are inexpensive but, for the $5,000 you put into a good K-series swap and a decent tune, you end up with around 210 WHP. Nothing to sneer at but…you put in $5,000 you’d expect something more than what a regular Civic makes nowadays.

Enter these one-off swaps that take the best that Japan offers.

This isn’t the first Evo-swapped Civic, this has surely been done dozens of times before.

It’s still an uncommon swap.

Here’s a video of a similar but newer Civic Hatch with an EVO swap mopping the floor with an actual Mitsubishi Evolution.

The 4G63 engine in both NA and Turbo forms, have been around since the mid-80’s. Contrary to popular belief, when treated well, these engines can be just as reliable as Honda engines.

With a cast-iron block and aluminum head that loves to breathe, these engines were made for boost. And that’s were the fun comes in.

Bumping power from the stock 286 crank HP to close to 500 WHP and beyond reliably on the stock turbo is no problem.

Add Mitsubishi’s legendary AWD technology and running gear and when this Civic’s done, it’ll annihilate everything it lines up against.

Civics should be FWD only, but, if it’s your car, who am I to say otherwise.

This will be an awesome build when completed and I can’t wait to see this Civic decimating all in its path.

Slightly bothered that there’s a DSM engine in a Honda? Juuust a little.

Stoked about this build anyway? Absolutely.
