Talk about an insurance nightmare that might haunt you for years.

If you’re having an awful day, at least you’re not this Honda CR-V driving spotted in Chesapeake. According to Twitter user and Virginia resident @Robb757 earlier last week (June 5, 2020) he caught the horrifying moment this Honda CR-V driver rear-ended one of the most expensive cars you can buy today, a $207,326 Lamborghini Urus.. To put that into comparison, that CR-V only cost around $22,000 when it came out in 2010.

Check out his tweet below.

At first glance it looks like two bog-standard crossovers hit each other, no big deal, right? Upon closer inspection, the SUV in front is a lot more angular, has aggressive exhausts, and has bulls on its wheelcaps. Oh no, it’s a Lambo Urus.

As these accidents typically play out, most of the time the fault lies with the car in the rear. The Honda CR-V should’ve been following at a safe distance, giving ample room in front of him to stop.

The damage looks severe. Judging by a bent C-Pillar, that alone is around $50,000, if not more. Then there’s the electrical systems, brakes, and a bunch of other broken body and suspension systems we can’t see. All that will add on another $75,000-$90,000.

And you know these types of repairs only happen in Lamborghini approved service stations so labor costs will reflect that.

Minimum property damage insurance in VA is just $20,000 so, on the off chance this Honda CR-V driver has that much coverage, he’s on the hook for the rest of the bill, not to mention his own repairs to his Honda.

My advice to those drivers with cheap insurance, if you see luxo-barges and exotics on the road like the Urus, steer clear and stay in the slow lane for you and your wallet’s well being. You know these types of drivers are prone to wild and crazy antics so it would behoove you to literally “stay in your lane.”
